Oil on canvas
Léopold Zborowski was a Polish-born artist, poet, and art dealer who moved to Paris in 1913. He began acting as Modigliani's manager in 1916, commissioning and selling his works and turning a large room in his apartment into a studio for the artist. In this portrait, we see the stylized features that are characteristic of Modigliani's work: an elegantly elongated neck, icy-blue eyes, a prominent, narrow nose, and a small mouth set within a heart-shaped face.
